Sarti: hand-painted silk
a blend of art and craft
Hand-painted silk dresses, blouses, scarves…Sarti is a child born of the marriage of two passions and two lives:
the creation of garments and painting.
Even as a small girl Adriana Tiron used to love to dream up and make clothes
for herself and her friends, ones that could make feel unique and special.
For Marco Sartor his artistic expression was always through a canvas and a paint brush.

Making a dress that makes you feel special is always on my mind. I was inspired by an Adele song. Listening to it, I imagined myself dancing, dreamlike, in an ancient salon. A full skirt swirled around me as I moved. This is how the dress was born. It had to be simple. Marco hand-painted notes that rose and evaporated in the air. To complete the design he added the treble clef. It started with a melody and ended with a magical dress to wear.

I tied on my athletic shoes and went for a run. Sun on my face, hair blowing, I reveled in the pure pleasure of a glorious Spring day. The call of nature all around caused me to abandon the asphalt for a country road. Just ahead I saw a field of poppies. As I drew closer, I began to see the velvety silk texture of their petals. I sat beside them for a closer look, then I laid my head among them and watched the light filter through, their petals vibrating with each imperceptible breath of air. I was awed by their vibrant color, their fragility and lightness. Something clicked inside me. As I got up and ran on, I envisioned a dress in bold red, made of silk as fine and delicate as the petals of poppies fluttering in the breeze. It will be lovely, I thought.
